In our “don’t worry be happy” world, we sometimes skip over the necessary and difficult work of truly being able to hold our and each other’s emotional responses to what is happening in the world today. The “don’t worry be happy” philosophy is partially right in that we have so much creative potential – we do live in a gifted and joyous time in many ways! But it is also a time filled with challenges that also need to be rightly recognized and held with wisdom, acceptance, compassion and understanding.
Delving into the stages of grief is a powerful tool for developing this wisdom, acceptance, compassion and understanding and I invite you to explore this with me through this World Peace Hologram project. The idea is that even if a small part of the collective starts to bring consciousness to this that we can shift the greater whole in a positive way.
In this second of a 5 part series we will explore how anger over loss and grief shows up in the world and in our own personal lives. It is easy to see how our wars, gang violence and even suicide or other violence to self can stem from this kind of anger over loss. But perhaps what is not so clear is that our frustration over the clutter of our lives, or our anger towards our boss in our dead-end job, or our lack of patience with a spouse or friend, can also be viewed as a symptom of grief over the loss of our ideals about how life “should be”. Lot’s to explore there.
